1. Exfoliating Face Mask

I’ve found one of the better concoctions for you ladies to try out yourselves; this exfoliating mask with oatmeal, cucumber and avocado is certainly a winner. The avo is packed with Vitamin E, the cucumber is a natural anti-inflammatory and the will gently buff away dead skins cells when you take the mask off.

2. Kiwi Cleanser

This home-made facial cleanser is great for oily skin and its tasty ingredients make it almost good enough to eat! You’ll need one peeled kiwi fruit, a couple of tablespoons of natural yoghurt, a tablespoon of honey and a drop of orange essential oil. Mix these all together until they look thick and creamy, apply to damp skin, wash and rinse. Kiwi is chock-a-block with invigorating Vitamin C and acts as a natural detergent, gently breaking down oiliness on the skin’s surface.

3. Berry Hand and Foot Exfoliant

This fruity foot and hand treatment scrubs off dead and dry skin cells, smells delicious and will leave your skin feeling fabulously soft. To make it you’ll need about 10 strawberries or a handful of raspberries, a glug of olive oil and another handful of coarse sea salt or yellow sugar. Puree the strawberries in a blender, mix this up with other ingredients and massage over your hands and feet. Berries are a great natural source of antioxidants which fight skin-dulling free radicals and they’re also super high in Vitamin C.

4. Face Wash

One of the most efficient and green uses of baking soda is as a face wash. Dilute 2 teaspoons of baking soda with 1 teaspoon of warm water in a bowl and mix to a soft paste with your finger. Wet your face with warm water and apply the paste in a gentle circular motion. Rinse thoroughly and pat your face dry with a soft towel. It’s a great way to remove make-up.

5.Raw Honey

Raw honey is one of the best beauty secrets from your kitchen for radiant and glowing skin! All you need to do is thoroughly cleanse your skin and remove all makeup. Apply a teaspoon or two of raw honey to your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse your face off and pat dry. You can follow with your favourite moisturizer if you like! Do this 1-2 times weekly to have glowing results.

6.Olive Oil

Olive oil makes a very healthy deep conditioner for your hair. I like to apply some to wet hair and wrap it in a warm or hot towel. Leave the towel on for about 20 minutes before shampooing and conditioning your hair as normal. Depending  on how often you use hot tools on your hair, you should deep condition your hair weekly or every week and a half.

7. Apple Cider Vinegar

In order for your hair to style better and look healthier, you should strip it of build-up about every month. The easiest and most natural way to do this is in the shower with apple cider vinegar! Shampoo your hair, then mix ½ cup of apple cider vinegar with ½ cup of water. Pour this mixture over your hair, then rinse and condition as usual.

8.Coconut Oil

Don’t spend money on an eye makeup remover! Instead, use coconut oil! It’s natural and won’t irritate even the most sensitive eyes. It’s also safe for contact lens wearers! Warm up a little in the palm of your hand and rub it onto your eyes with a cotton ball to remove every trace of makeup.

9.Avocado

Avocado is a lifesaver for anyone who suffers from dry skin. Because it’s rich in fats and oils, it has strong moisturizing properties! Mash up a fresh avocado and apply it to your skin for 5 minutes. Here are a few other ideas: Strawberries are great for acne-prone skin, and bananas are perfect for sallow skin!

10.Eggs

Eggs are known for their ability to leave hair super shiny! Full of fats, oils and protein, you can use egg whites as a hair mask, leaving it on till it dries completely and then shampooing it out. You can use just the yokes for a facial mask, leaving hydrated and toned skin. For a dandruff treatment, instead of reaching for chemical-laden dandruff shampoo, use beaten egg yokes and massage them into the scalp before washing with chemical-free shampoo. What an easy way to achieve glowing skin with one product found in our refrigerator!

11.Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe has so many beneficial properties! For skin, aloe is most commonly known for sunburn care as it reduces inflammation and cools the skin. According to a Livestrong article by Traci Joy, aloe vera is used for cell rejuvenation- both the synthesis of collagen and the production of hyaluronic acid in skin, which are central for healthy, young and moisturized skin. A depletion of these cell products will cause saggy and wrinkled skin. On top of that, it's used for acne scarring and other inflamed skin conditions. What a natural alternative to those expensive facial creams! And a bonus, an aloe vera plant is easily maintained in your own home!
